Serious (and Not-So-Serious) Runners Wanted

We are pleased to host our very first 5K run through a scenic course on the grounds of the Hauser Estate Winery, home to our very own Jack’s Hard Cider. Saturday, August 22, we invite serious (and not-so-serious) runners to dash down vineyard rows, tackle the rolling hills and see first-hand where our handcrafted Jack’s Hard Cider is made.

The Hard Cider Run has proudly partnered with the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) of Central Pennsylvania. As the largest charitable supporter of T1D research, a portion of the run proceeds will benefit JDRF.

Jacks Hard Cider Can LineupThe 5K is open to everyone, including seasoned runners and weekend warriors, who may be more excited about the hard cider than they are for the race (who are we to judge?). Walkers are invited, too—we even have special waves for those who want to stroll the course. Kids can also participate and get their own kid-sized t-shirt as a souvenir.

Every participant will receive a sweet t-shirt and custom event medal. There will be chip timing so you can tell your friends how fast (or how slow) you ran.

Cross the finish line and enjoy our craft hard cider as a reward. (Non-alcoholic drinks available.) And yes, the glass is yours to keep. After the race, stay for some lunch because what is local, pressed on-site cider without awesome food? Live music entertainment will be a part of the day’s festivities too.

Ready to register? Prices increase as the race nears, so sign-up early. Don’t want to go it alone? Put together a team with four participants, come up with a cool-sounding name (e.g. “Apple Crushers” anyone or “Cider Chasers” for the win?) and receive $5 off per-participant during registration.

We’re also looking for a few good volunteers. Volunteers not only receive a free cider after their shift, but will also get a choice of either a complimentary race registration (for next time) or a donation to a charity of their choice.
