We are so proud of the folks who make up the Jack’s Hard Cider team, and it’s our pleasure to introduce them to you. Back in May, you met Jordan Collins, our sales representative in Baltimore; this time, we’re giving a shout-out to Rhyne McCormick, another of our rock star sales reps.
If you live in Central Pennsylvania and enjoy sipping Jack’s Hard Cider at your local pub or grabbing a six-pack at a nearby bottle shop, you have Rhyne to thank. He hustles across the region to make sure that our crisp, handcrafted hard ciders are available everywhere you’re hanging out.
Rhyne has been with us only since April, so we’re still are getting to know him. He sat down with us for a chat to share a little bit more about his work with Jack’s and what makes him tick.
Where are you from, and where do you live now?
I grew up outside of State College, Pennsylvania, and currently I live in New Cumberland, which I love because it’s central to my sales region.
As a Jack’s sales rep, what does your day-to-day look like?
I split my time between trying to land new accounts, servicing existing ones and introducing the Jack’s brand to consumers at tasting events.
The best part of my day is when I make an unexpected connection with someone who appreciates cider as much as I do and I’m able to introduce them to our brand.
What’s your first memory of hard cider?
I had my first Strongbow Cider in late ’80s when I was playing music in the pubs of Omaha, Nebraska. I don’t remember my first sip, but I drank it consistently over that time period.
Imagine you’ve got a cold can of Jack’s in hand. Where do you want to go enjoy it?
On the hill at Hauser Estate Winery.
Our ciders are so food-friendly. What’s one of your favorite food and cider pairings?
I recommend drinking Jack’s Original with my favorite Pennsylvania Dutch meal: pork and sauerkraut.
Yum! How about a favorite Jack’s Hard Cider cocktail?
I enjoy Jack’s Original with Pinot Noir. I just mix them 50/50.
What do you foresee as the next big trend in craft hard cider?
I feel that Jack’s is at the cutting edge with our Bourbon Breakfast Cider (bourbon, maple syrup, coffee-infused), but I love hot sauce, so you never know …
